12,000 acres. 18.75 square miles. That’s how much land Young Living is donating to the state of Utah to create a wildlife sanctuary, ensuring that local flora and fauna can recover and flourish. Young Living, The Nature Conservancy, and the Utah Department of Transportation are partnering to help protect the delicate ecosystem of the Duchesne River and retain its natural path.
As part of the conservation effort, the old barbed wire fences on the property will be torn down and replaced with animal-friendly four-strand fencing to reduce animal injuries. Young Living will also grow native plants in the most depleted animal crossings, migratory routes, and critical winter range to help local animal populations recover. Other than a few potential structures that may be built to assist with the conservation process, the land will remain undeveloped as it returns to its original, untouched state.
In addition to the efforts to protect the land’s ecosystem, Young Living’s donation will protect Native American archeological sites featuring ancient petroglyphs inscribed by the original inhabitants of the land.
This property is one of the largest land donations the state of Utah has ever received, and we know that your teams will feel proud to know that they are part of an organization that is passionate about worthy conservation causes like this sanctuary. To commemorate this occasion, Young Living held a dedication ceremony. You can check that out here!
