Notes in making homemade soap!!

Making soap with essential oils...
These are not the only scents to use with soap making it is just a base line to use for reference,...

Top Notes
Basil
Bergamot
Clary Sage
Eucalyptus
Grapefruit
Lemon Lime
Orange
Peppermint
Spearmint
Tea Tree

 Middle Notes
Cinnamon Leaf
 Clove
Geranium
Juniper
Lavender
Lemongrass
Rosemary

Base Notes
 Cedarwood
Patchouli
 Vetiver
Ylang Ylang

*Top notes tend to be more fleeting in soap, especially citrus scents, so are often paired with a middle and/or base note. A few top notes, like peppermint and bergamot, can be used alone in soap and still hold their scent nicely.

*The scent of a middle note lasts longer and is kind of like the bridge between top and base notes. Middle notes like lavender,  and lemongrass can be used alone in soap & still hold their scent nicely.

*A base note is the deepest scent in a blend that you don’t always smell right away, but it sticks around the longest and adds depth. Base notes tend to be heavy by themselves, but when you use just a little in a blend they improve the overall aroma.

Pumpkin cream cheese Muffin with EO pumpkin spice....

                                         INGREDIENTS

MUFFIN:

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin spice(see below)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (15 oz) can pumpkin (pure pumpkin puree)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Mexican vanilla HERE

Like most pumpkin baking recipes, you want to use pure canned pumpkin puree. You do not want to buy a can of pumpkin pie filling.

The brown sugar adds a little molasses to the muffins and adds moisture to the muffins and flavor.
The last key to these epic pumpkin muffins is the tablespoon of pumpkin spice! Don’t skip it!

To create the cream cheese swirl, you need a few ingredients:
Beat together all ingredients until smooth and then swirl it right into the top of the pumpkin muffin batter before baking.

CREAM CHEESE SWIRL:

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla ( I use clear Mexican vanilla) Its amazing Here
To swirl it in, I like to drop a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture and then I use a tooth pick to drag the cream cheese towards the edges.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F then prepare muffin pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, pumpkin spice, baking soda and salt until well combined. Set aside.
  3. In large bowl, whisk together pumpkin, sugar and brown sugar.
  4. Beat in eggs, vegetable oil and vanilla. Slowly whisk in the flour mixture, until there are no lumps. Fill muffin tins 3/4 full.
  5. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add in sugar, egg yolk and vanilla  and beat until well combined.
  6. Top each muffin with about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese mixture and use a toothpick or knife to swirl it into the batter. This will not look smooth, but will bake fine..
  7. Bake muffins for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Help thicken your hair

Lavender essential oil

Lavender oil can speed up hair growth. Knowing that lavender oil has properties that can generate the growth of cells and reduce stress, researchers on one animal study found that this oil was able to generate faster hair growth in mice.
It also has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, which can improve scalp health

Rosemary essential oil

If you want to improve both hair thickness and hair growth, rosemary oil is a great choice thanks to its ability to improve cellular generation.

Cedarwood essential oil

Cedarwood essential oil is thought to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss by balancing the oil-producing glands in the scalp. It also has antifungal and antibacterial properties, which can treat different conditions that may contribute to dandruff or hair loss.
Included in a mixture with lavender and rosemary, cedarwood  was also found to reduce hair lossTrusted Source in those with alopecia areata.

Thyme, ylang ylang, tea tree, clary sage, lemongrass and peppermint are also beneficial oils for treating hair and scalp..

Essential Oils and Horses

Equine fly spray 32 oz
16 oz witch hazel
100 drops Lemongrass
100 drops Citronella or Purification
25 drops Peppermint
Fill with distilled water
Spray on body, legs, mane and tail (brush in to distribute on body if needed.)
Spray onto your hands or a face brush to apply to ears and face.
Keep out of eyes and ears.
Here is the fly spray we are making for our horse.
Greatest thing is we can spray him right next to someone spraying their horse with commercial sprays and he is fly free and the other horse is still twitching and stomping off flies.

Grab a bottle of Thieves Mouthwash and a tube of Dentarome Ultra Toothpaste or two to keep in your tack room or supply chest.
Why? In the event your horse's hooves need a spa day, of course! I mean they've been on their feet ALL DAY!
First, rinse and pick hooves thoroughly. Next, soak hooves in the Thieves Mouthwash and then pack the soaked hoof with the Dentarome Ultra. Leave it and if any of left we usually just pick it out. You can even add oils like Thieves, Melrose, and Helichrysum to your paste.

Lavender is one of the most adulterated essential oils worldwide on the market today. With Young Living’s incredible seed to seal process we can know ours is the highest grade and quality available today that is safest for our pets.
Lavender is an incredibly mild essential oil that is well-suited for use on even our most small and delicate of animals. We love to use Lavender to support healthy skin. It’s also one we break out when we take our dogs to the groomers to keep them cool, calm, and collected.
Lavender is safe enough for birds and exotic animals. Lavender can be used by spritzing, petting, in drinking water, food, on perches, diffusing and tenting.
Lavender is also a staple at the farm for horses in those times of unexpected mishaps or when the chicken nests need to be freshened up.

Young Living Donates 12,000 acres

12,000 acres. 18.75 square miles. That’s how much land Young Living is donating to the state of Utah to create a wildlife sanctuary, ensuring that local flora and fauna can recover and flourish. Young Living, The Nature Conservancy, and the Utah Department of Transportation are partnering to help protect the delicate ecosystem of the Duchesne River and retain its natural path.
As part of the conservation effort, the old barbed wire fences on the property will be torn down and replaced with animal-friendly four-strand fencing to reduce animal injuries. Young Living will also grow native plants in the most depleted animal crossings, migratory routes, and critical winter range to help local animal populations recover. Other than a few potential structures that may be built to assist with the conservation process, the land will remain undeveloped as it returns to its original, untouched state.
In addition to the efforts to protect the land’s ecosystem, Young Living’s donation will protect Native American archeological sites featuring ancient petroglyphs inscribed by the original inhabitants of the land.
This property is one of the largest land donations the state of Utah has ever received, and we know that your teams will feel proud to know that they are part of an organization that is passionate about worthy conservation causes like this sanctuary. To commemorate this occasion, Young Living held a dedication ceremony. You can check that out here!

DIY WHIPPED TATTOO CREAM

DIY WHIPPED TATTOO CREAM

Ingredients:

1 oz organic mango butter
1 oz organic cocoa butter (this will lend a slight chocolatey scent to your finished product. If you prefer a less obvious scent, you can substitute shea butter instead)
1 oz organic kokum butter
¼ c organic sweet almond oil
Now for the Essential Oils
8 drops helichrysum
10 drops frankincense
10 drops lavender
MAKE IT
Using a kitchen scale, weigh your butters and almond oil and put them into a double boiler.
Slowly heat the butters and oil until they melt.
Give them all a mix together.
Allow the mixture to set. I don’t have much patience, so I placed my bowl into the refrigerator while I cleaned up and did some work. After about 45 – 60 minutes, I checked and it was set enough to move forward.
Add your essential oils.
Using a hand or stand mixer, whip the mixture until stiff peaks form.
Transfer your whipped tattoo healing cream to a mason or other glass jar. The final product will be a harder feeling whipped cream and will feel wonderful being massaged into your tattoo and skin.
Apply a small amount to your tattoo throughout the day. The more moisturized you keep your tattoo, the less flaking that will occur (which in turn leads to less itchiness) and the better your skin will look, feel and heal.

WHY I CHOSE THESE INGREDIENTS TO HELP HEAL  TATTOOS:
Mango butter is soothing and moisturizing.
Cocoa butter is high in vitamin E to help hydrate and soothe skin. Keeping a tattoo moisturized helps combat flaking and itchiness.
Kokum butter heals and helps revitalize skin cells.
Sweet almond oil is easily absorbed and helps the other ingredients penetrate into your skin.
Helichrysum essential oil is anti-microbial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory; perfect for anything on your body/skin that can become infected.
Frankincense oil helps wounds heal faster and protects them from infection. Remember, a new tattoo is an open wound while it is healing.
Lavender oil relieves pain, helps with blood circulation, and is generally soothing overall.

Consider this: Cigarettes are sold on a store shelf.
Do we know they're HARMFUL?
Yes.
Do we know they cause cancer?
Yes.
Do we know they cause underdevelopment in babies?
Yes.
COPD? Emphysema? Poor circulation? And a slew of other issues?
Yes. Yes. Yes. And yes.
ARE THEY STILL SOLD AT STORES?
YES.
👉Just because it is on a store shelf doesn't mean it's good for you👈

Air fresheners, plug-ins, scented candles, and room sprays are just as harmful! Burning a scented candle for one hour does the same damage to your lungs as smoking a cigarette. 🚬🕯☠ Just because they're sold at your favorite store doesn't make them safe.

The air INSIDE our home is way more toxic than all the pollution OUTSIDE. We are doing this to ourselves, people. If you work from home or are a stay at home parent, you are 50% more likely to get cancer in your lifetime. Environmental cancer (meaning it's not in your genes) accounts for 95% of all cancer cases.

Is it really worth making your house smell a certain way? Because there are healthier ways to do that:

🌱 Diffuse pure plant oils (not the junk sold next to the air fresheners)
🌬 Open your windows! Let the polluted air out and the fresh air in!
🌿 Get some house plants! They gobble up the carbon dioxide in the air and put out fresh oxygen for us to breathe. They are the original air-purifiers!

🌵Know better. Do better. Live better.🌵

Diffuser usage and maintenance

What is a Diffuser?
Diffusers are handy little devices that use ultrasonic technology to break up a mixture of essential oils and water into super fine micro particles and disperse them into the air... which is really just a fancy way of saying that when you fill up your diffuser with water and essential oils...amazing things happen.

Usage Tips and Tricks:
• Never immerse your diffuser in water
• Use diffuser on a level surface
• Mild soap and water can be used to clean the lid/top of the diffuser if any oil residue builds up there.
• When adding water and essential oils to your diffuser, water level should not exceed the water fill line.
• Fill a cup of water to fill your diffuser. Do not put your diffuser UNDER the faucet. You risk overfilling.
• Less is more! Start with just 4-6 drops adding more if necessary. Keep in mind that the smaller the room you are diffusing in, the less drops you’ll need.
• I like to wipe out my diffuser after every couple of uses and clean the silver plate (Be sure to look at your diffuser's instructions).
* q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to clean the silver ring.

Fill half the bottle with unscented, plain epsom salt
When it’s halfway full, stop and add a few drops of pure, therapeutic grade essential oils (that are safe for topical applications).  I use Young Living brand. Close the lid and shake well. Then, fill up the rest of the bottle and add a few more drops of essential oils on top.  Shake again. This evenly disperses the oils throughout the epsom salt so they don’t clump together on top.

*****Be sure and take your empty bottles and let sit a few days in epsom salts and you will get a great bath salt....

AIR FRESHENERS / Cleaners throw them out!!!!!

Having problems breathing???
Claim you have allergies??   The culprit may be in your home that you actually pay money for...  I get it as I was one of the biggest candle and air fresheners buyer you ever met...
They may smell sweet, but popular air fresheners can cause serious lung problems.
That’s the message from a new study presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). Home fragrance products often contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that include such nasty chemicals as formalehyde, petroleum distillates, limonene, esters and alcohols. (Download a copy of the presentation here)
Exposures to such VOCs — even at levels below currently accepted safety recommendations — can increase the risk of asthma in kids. That’s because VOCs can trigger eye and respiratory tract irritation, headaches and dizziness, as Dr. Stanley Fineman, ACAAI president-elect, pointed out..

Therapeutic grade essential oils are a game changer... Do your research, do not take my word but know I only share my journey to help and educate others...

Dont believe in oils??  Thats ok, but at least hear me when I say those air fresheners and sprays and cleaning products are packed full of harmful toxins...
