The Essential Oils that can Naturally Help Heal Brain Injuries
It’s quite true that aromatherapy can penetrate deeper into the tissues than many other healing modalities. Because they are inhaled through the nose, essential oils will efficiently pass through the blood brain barrier in the area surrounding the olfactory nerve. This makes them very serious contenders as natural healers for brain injuries and more.
A true blood-brain barrier is 8 cells in thickness. The number of cells which constitute the layer around the olfactory nerve is only 4 to 5 cells thick. Hence, it is very easy for the oils to pass straight through to the brain when breathed in through the nose.
“When essential oils are inhaled through the nose, tiny nerves send an immediate signal to the brain and go straight to work on the systems that moderate our minds and bodies. Inhalation can be the most direct delivery method of these incredibly nurturing components in essential oils, since the chemical messengers in the nasal cavity have direct access to the brain.”
This quality of essential oils is a critical one where it concerns brain injuries. Every injury in the body requires good circulation to enhance healing. Ideal circulation provides plenty of oxygen and nutriments to the injury site as well as removes carbon dioxide, waste products, and toxic residues.
Essential oils that promote circulation, particularly in brain tissue, can greatly accelerate the healing process of injuries in the head. Not only will the deeply penetrating oils increase circulation, some of them have the right chemical constituents that can assist in the repair of injured brain tissue.
If there is one essential oil that is particularly well indicated for brain injuries, it is frankincence. Frankincense has a number of unique qualities that make it exceptionally potent in the treatment of specific types of brain damage. For instance, it has the capacity to increase the oxygenation of the blood going to the brain which will in turn help with the absorption of oxygen.
What’s more, Frankincense possesses other key properties that work on critical centers in the brain which facilitate subtle types of healing. When properly potentiated, this versatile essential oil affects the glandular system which can be crucial to deep and permanent healing.
What distinguishes frankincense as a powerful curative agent is its unique mix of terpenes. The terpenes found in essential oils are aromatic hydrocarbons, some of which have a protective function. When found in nature, conifers which emit these terpenes do so to deter herbivores, as well as to attract the predators and parasites of those same animals.
Frankincense has a composition of 8% sesquiterpenes and 78% monoterpenes. It is the sesquiterpenes that are particularly effective in the remediation of hard-to-heal brain injuries. Their capability to penetrate deeply into the brain tissues has been valued by systems of healing since ancient times.
“Frankincense has a molecular makeup that includes sesquiterpenes, that is able to cross the blood/brain barrier. These sesquiterpenes stimulate the limbic system of the brain and other glands within the brain, promoting memory and releasing emotions. Frankincense slows down and deepens the breath.”Diffuse frankincense oil in a cold water diffuser. The diffusion of the oil creates a warm and healing scent that assists in mind healing and preserving the brain’s ability to retain and utilize information.
Whenever essential oils are used medicinally, it is of vital importance that they have the highest level of purity. This is the main reason we use Young Living Essential oils, they can be delivered right into the brain, inferior oils should never be used. Substandard oils that contain unwanted contaminants and toxins will end up contributing to the toxic load of the brain.
Therapeutic grade essential oils are always recommended for aromatherapy for the same reasons. This will also guarantee that certain chemical compounds and other constituents are present in quantities that meet a minimum therapeutic standard.
What confers the status of therapeutic grade on any essential oil is that it contains the full complement of bioactive chemical constituents. It should also possess a very rich and deep aroma that renders it “kinetically alive.” In this way, a high quality essential oil is able to significantly raise the vibration of the human body in order to sufficiently facilitate the necessary healing process.
" Cypress essential oil also helps in the healing from a concussion, It is obtained from the needle-bearing tree of coniferous and deciduous regions — the scientific name is Cupressus sempervirens. The cypress tree is an evergreen, with small, rounded and woody cones. It has scalelike leaves and tiny flowers. This powerful essential oil is valued because of its ability to fight infections, aid the respiratory system, remove toxins from the body, and work as stimulate that relieves nervousness and anxiety. It promotes in toxin removal, heals wounds and helps prevent blood clotting along with many other values.

Fantastic Essential Rewards benefits with Young Living
Fantastic Benefits Including FREE PRODUCT Credits!
Essential Rewards (ER) is Young Living’s monthly autoship program. There is no cost to sign up for this program, and your order must be at least 50PV each month (50PV usually equates to $50 before tax and shipping). ER is not required, but it does have some really great benefits:
1. Earn free product credits on all your ER orders – 10% back during months 1-3, 20% back during months 4-24, and 25% back after 24 months. I’ve gotten LOTS of free product this way. :)
2. Less expensive shipping
3. Some ER kits are available that are not in the regular catalog, at even more discounted rates (the Thieves ER kit is an example)
4. Free gifts from Young Living at 3,6, and 9 months, and a bottle of ‘Loyalty’ at 1 year!
You can change your order every month (and should, depending on what you need!), it just needs to be changed by midnight on your ER date and has to be at least 50PV. So for instance, my date is the 2nd, so I always make sure my order looks how I want by midnight on the 2nd of each month.
Cancel Anytime
You can cancel ER at any time, but you do need to call in/live chat to cancel. Simply emptying out the items in the ER order WILL NOT cancel your autoship! They will just send you what you ordered the previous month!
When Should You Sign Up?
When you get to the point where you are ordering regularly and/or replacing products, you should really consider signing up for Essential Rewards. If you are ordering at least $50 worth of products a month and aren’t on ER, you are missing out on earning FREE PRODUCT!

50 SHADES of Essential Oils
50 Shades of Grey is out for the last of the 3 movies. Many personal care products for the bedroom, such as personal lubricants and massage oils, contain toxic ingredients (such as parabens, petroleum-based ingredients, phenoyxethanol, glycerin, propylene glycol and chlorhexidine) that can be found in industrial cleaners. Do you want that on your body? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Plus, Christian Grey wouldn’t approve.
Keep reading to find out how to use essential oils for romance, love and fun in the bedroom.
LOVE and FUN and ROMANCE in the BEDROOM!!
1.JOY
Made with bergamot, ylang ylang, lemon, coriander, tangerine, jasmine, Roman chamomile and palmarosa, Joy has a similar scent to Sensation with stronger notes of geranium. It’s incredibly uplifting and helps to boost my mood. I wear it as perfume mixed with a little carrier oil. It smells divine when diffused and can really help to set a romantic mood.
I like to make my own intimate massage oil with Joy. I mix 5-7 drops of Joy with 1 oz. of coconut oil and store in a glass jar. When the mood strikes, I use this as needed.
2. SENSATION
Made with coriander, ylang ylang, bergamot, jasmine and geranium, Sensation is alluringly fragrant and exotic. It’s very romantic, arousing and helps to amplify a little excitement in the bedroom.
I use it to spray bedding or pillows to set the mood, or wear as a perfume on my neck and wrists. It instantly gets the attention of my husband.
3.YLANG YLANG
With a faintly sweet floral scent similar to gardenia or plumeria, Ylang Ylang was used to cover the beds of newly married couples on their wedding night. It’s no surprise that blends like Sensation and Joy, which both help to promote romance, contain Ylang Ylang.
You can wear Ylang Ylang as perfume, diffuse to set a romantic mood, and apply topically (neat or with a little coconut oil) to your thighs, lower abdomen or VitaFlex points on the feet to inspire some fun in the bedroom. It always seems to get me in the mood – especially when applied neat to the thighs.
4.BLACK PEPPER & PEPPERMINT
Why this duo? Black Pepper gives a little heat and Peppermint cools things off. The mixture is heavenly when applied to the thighs (3 drops of Black Pepper and 3 drops of Peppermint with 6-8 drops of a carrier oil) will definitely heat things up in the bedroom.
I also like to make my own personal lubricant with 1 oz of coconut oil, 5 drops of Sensation, 2 drops of Black Pepper and 2 drops of Peppermint. The floral scent of Sensation helps to create a romantic mood, while Black Pepper and Peppermint provide a warm/cool sensation. It’s heavenly.
And word to the wise, if you don’t already have coconut oil in your bedroom and bathroom – DO IT! It works amazingly as a personal lubricant, massage oil, moisturizer and so much more.
5. Idaho Blue Spruce
Idaho Blue Spruce is an exclusive oil that is distilled directly from Young Living’s St. Maries farm in Idaho. It has a masculine, evergreen pine scent that smells wonderful on men.
I like to mix Idaho Blue Spruce (5 drops) with Ylang Ylang (3 drops) in 1 oz of coconut oil to make a wonderful sensual massage oil just for men. I apply to the thighs and massage on the back on my husband to help set the mood. It can be used as a men’s cologne too.
6. Hong Kuai
Hong Kuai is a tree found in the mountain rainforests of Taiwan. It’s incredibly high in sesquiterpene content, which means Hong Kuai is like getting a boost of liquid confidence.
With its woodsy aroma, it’s perfect for men as a cologne. Here’s a great recipe to increase feelings of romance, perseverance, and confidence for men: Mix 2 drops of Hong Kuai, 1 drop of Ylang Ylang and 1 drop of Blue Spruce. Apply to thighs, neck and VitaFlex points on the feet.
7. Goldenrod
Goldenrod helps to support the circulatory system. As the name suggests, Goldenrod can be used on well… let’s just say it will make a man feel like a king.
It can be applied to the lower abdomen, ankles, or VitaFlex points on the feet either neat or diluted.
8. Mister
Mister is a blend of sage, fennel, lavender, myrtle, peppermint, and blue yarrow in a base of sesame seed oil. It can be used as a men’s cologne and used to promote inner balance.
I often pair Mister with Idaho Blue Spruce and Ylang Ylang for an intoxicating, arousing massage oil and apply to the VitaFlex points on the feet, ankles and lower abdomen.
9. Clary Sage
Clary Sage is the womans version of Mister. It has a mild, warm herbal scent that is relaxing and helps to promote inner balance and reduce stress. It has natural phytoestrogens.
I like to combine a few drops of Clary Sage and Ylang Ylang or Sensation with a few drops of coconut oil for a sensual massage oil. Apply to the VitaFlex points onthe feet, ankles and lower abdomen.
10. Lady Sclareol
Lady Sclareol is a blend of rosewood, vetiver, geranium, orange, clary sage, ylang ylang, sandalwood, sage lavender, jasmine and Idaho Tansy. It has a seductive and alluring scent for both men and women – perfect for those special moments in the bedroom.
I like to apply to my neck and wrists as a perfume (which instantly attracts my husband) and mixed with a carrier oil to a warm bath to enjoy with my husband.
